Detailed Itinerary – 5-Day Primates Experience Uganda
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer
Upon arrival, your driver-guide will pick you up from the airport or hotel. Then, transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. Along the way, enjoy rolling countryside, traditional homes, and vibrant birdlife.
Afterward, stop for lunch in Fort Portal, Uganda’s tourism capital. Finally, continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Habituation
After an early breakfast, proceed to Kibale park headquarters for briefing. Then, begin your full-day chimpanzee habituation experience. Unlike standard tracking, this 5-Day Primates Experience Uganda activity allows extended time in the forest.
Meanwhile, look out for monkeys, forest elephants, and colorful birds. At midday, enjoy a picnic lunch in a protected area. Later, continue tracking before returning to the lodge for relaxation and dinner.

Day 3: Bigodi & Cultural Experience
After breakfast, enjoy a cultural immersion near Kibale Forest. First, visit Bigodi Swamp, home to butterflies, wildlife, and spectacular birds like the Great Blue Turaco. Therefore, it is a paradise for bird lovers.
Next, take a guided village walk. Experience coffee preparation, banana beer making, basket weaving, and a visit to a traditional healer. Finally, enjoy a local lunch at Tinka’s Homestay, a community-based conservation initiative.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi
After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, watch for wildlife and, if lucky, the rare tree-climbing lions.
Continue through the terraced hills of the Kigezi Highlands with lunch en route in Kihihi. Upon arrival in Ruhija, relax at your lodge and prepare for gorilla trekking.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking & Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing. Then, enter the forest to begin your gorilla trekking adventure — the highlight of your 5-Day Primates Experience Uganda safari.
Once you locate the mountain gorillas, spend one unforgettable hour observing and photographing them. The trek may last 3–7 hours, depending on their movement. Therefore, a moderate level of fitness is recommended.
Later, return for lunch and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. In the evening, relax by the lake or enjoy optional activities.

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Kampala with a stop in Mbarara for lunch. Then, proceed to Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight.
