Detailed Itinerary – 3 Day Primate Trekking
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your 3 Day Primate Trekking adventure begins with pickup from Kigali Airport. Then, enjoy a scenic drive through Ruhengeri in northern Rwanda, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. Shortly after, cross into Uganda via the Cyanika or Katuna border.
Continue through Kisoro or Kabale, both nestled near the Virunga Mountains and Lake Bunyonyi. Finally, arrive at
Bwindi Forest National Park in the afternoon. Relax at the lodge or choose optional activities such as guided hill walks or a Batwa community visit.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing. Next, begin your guided trek through dense rainforest in search of mountain gorillas. The trek may last several hours, depending on their location.
However, the highlight of your 3 Day Primate Trekking safari is the magical hour spent observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Later, return to the lodge to relax and enjoy dinner.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trek – Mgahinga & Departure
On the final day of your 3 Day Primate Trekking, wake early for a transfer (approx. 2 hours) to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Here, trek through bamboo forests in search of rare golden monkeys.
Along the way, your ranger guide will share insights about the park’s history, flora, and fauna. The trek lasts about five hours. Afterwards, transfer back to Kigali for your onward flight.
