MURCHISON FALLS: 2 DAYS WILDLIFE SAFARI

Murchison Falls National Park is the prime destination for wildlife and big game viewing in Uganda. It is located along the Nile, covering 3,480 square kilometers of various habitats ranging from forest, grassland, riverine woodland, Borassus palms, acacia savanna, water. The Park protects a large concentration of wildlife including a remarkable 87 mammals, and over 451 bird species. The Park gets its name from the spectacular Murchison Falls located on the Nile. These waterfalls, also called the most important object of the entire course of the river are the center piece of the park, where they provide a spectacular view of the Nile squeezing through a tiny chasm of about 7 meters between rocks exploding into the pool 42 meters below. In the background, before the depression, the river is calm with a mirror-like smoothness. But a few meters in its course, turbulence in the water begins and it becomes the dramatic Murchison Falls.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Transfer & Boat Safari – Murchison Falls National Park

Today, our guide/driver will pick you from your residence or airport early in the morning for a transfer to Murchison falls national park. The drive will approximately take 5-6hrs drive and arriving at your booked lodge in time for lunch and boat safari to the bottom of the world’s powerful waterfalls.

Immediately after lunch you will head for the boat safari to the mighty Murchison falls as you witness how about 300-400 cubic meters of water squeeze through a 7-meter gorge each second. You will have a chance to see a variety of aquatic mammals and birds on the river banks and water, you will also hike to the top of the falls where you will find your driver guide waiting for you to return back to the lodge for a hot dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Sunrise Game Drive & Transfer – Entebbe

After your early morning breakfast, you will head out for the exciting game drive through park trails to have an opportunity to encounter the early risers and possible wildlife to sight include the elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, Giraffes and variety of bird species that will be spotted. After this game drive, you will drive out of the park and transfer to Kampala/Entebbe airport with en-route lunch probably in Masindi then arriving in Kampala/Entebbe in the evening.
