Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Our safari guide will pick you at Kigali Airport and embark on your drive to Bwindi Forest National Park, Uganda. The scenic drive to Uganda will go through Rwanda’s northwestern town of Ruhengeri, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park, another popular spot for mountain gorilla tracking. We will then circle around the mountains to cross over into Uganda via the Cyanika or Katuna border posts. The trip continues through the nearby towns of Kisoro or Kabale, both are small towns nestled into the luscious greenery at the feet of the Virunga Mountains and the hills adjacent to Lake Bunyonyi respectively. We will wind through the mountain roads to our final destination Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, arriving early afternoon. Spend the afternoon as you wish and choose from our array of optional activities such as hiking through the luscious hills, visiting the local Batwa community.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking briefing. Accompanied by expert guides, you’ll embark on an unforgettable trek through the dense forest to observe the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. The trek can last a few hours depending on the location of the gorillas, but the experience of seeing these magnificent creatures up close makes it all worthwhile. After the trek, return to your lodge for a restful evening and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 3: Golden Monkey & Depart – Kigali International Airport

Today, you will wake-up very early and embark on a drive (approx. 2hrs) to Mgahinga gorilla national park for the golden monkeys and transfer to Kigali afterward. The tour will take you through the jungles of Mgahinga National park, which consists of bamboo and a variety of indigenous plants like giant lobelia. During the trip, your ranger guide will tell you about the national park’s history and the fauna and flora that the park holds. The trek should take about 5 hours. Drive to Kigali immediately after the trek.
