Detailed Itinerary – 6-Day Double Gorilla Experience Uganda
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, our representative will welcome you. Then, transfer to Nkuringo sector in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the “Thousand Hills” and the Virunga Volcanoes.
After arrival, relax and prepare for your 6-Day Double Gorilla Experience Uganda adventure.

Day 2: First Gorilla Trek
Today marks a highlight of your 6-Day Double Gorilla Experience Uganda. After breakfast, attend a briefing at the park headquarters. Then, begin your gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi.
Bwindi hosts nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Therefore, it is one of Africa’s top trekking destinations. Follow experienced ranger guides through dense forest trails. Eventually, you will encounter a gorilla family.
You are allowed one magical hour with them. Afterwards, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 3: Community Walk
After breakfast, start your day with a cultural experience. Take a guided walk to Suma Waterfall (approx. 4–5 hours). Along the way, pass through local villages and scenic landscapes.
Alternatively, choose the Buniga Forest Trail (approx. 3 hours). This community initiative shares the heritage of the Batwa people. As a result, your 6-Day Double Gorilla Experience Uganda becomes both cultural and educational.

Day 4: Second Gorilla Trek & Lake Mutanda
Today, enjoy your second gorilla trek, a key moment in your 6-Day Double Gorilla Experience Uganda. After an early briefing, enter the rainforest once again.
The terrain is steep yet beautiful. However, ranger guides ensure safe navigation. Once you locate the gorillas, spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat.
Later, transfer to Lake Mutanda. The lake sits beneath the Virunga Mountains and offers breathtaking scenery. Relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Day 5: Lake Mutanda Exploration
After breakfast, continue your 6-Day Double Gorilla Experience Uganda with a canoe excursion on Lake Mutanda. Explore the islands in a traditional dug-out canoe for up to three hours.
Afterwards, return for lunch and relaxation. Spend the afternoon enjoying spectacular lake and mountain views at the lodge.

Day 6: Golden Monkey Trek & Departure
On the final day of your 6-Day Double Gorilla Experience Uganda, drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (approx. 2 hours). After a briefing, begin your golden monkey trek in the Virunga Volcanoes.
Golden monkeys are fast and playful. Therefore, expect an active hike. You will spend one hour observing them before descending.
Finally, transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your unforgettable Gorilla Experience Uganda.
